Philosophy & Approach

(re)discovering your true nature & greatest potential

re-forming wellness supports individuals & families with trauma, mental health dis-ease, and/or life challenges that result in a mental health diagnosis, such as Depression, Anxiety, (C)PTSD, ADHD, & Autism. My approach to therapy is not focused on "fixing" people; I do not consider human beings as needing to be fixed. Instead, we will focus on how our environment impacts our individual and collective wellness, leading to dis-ease. This approach seeks to get to the root of an issue and heal through creating new pathways that lead to systemic change within our own personal systems and in the broader society.

I am a passionate, unconventional advocate and counselor, so it is helpful when clients are open to and curious about new ideas, varied perspectives, and practices. You are uniquely you, and what works for you is unique to you. I offer integrative therapy, meaning I pull from various evidence-based practices that are tailored to each client, their identified needs and goals. Therapeutic modalities and approaches include CBT, DBT, strengths-based, trauma-focused, person-centered, humanistic, feminist, transpersonal, and family systems.

I must acknowledge and recognize that many Western therapy models and practices have been stolen from other cultures and used against them in practice. I recognize the perpetual harm that colonization has had on Indigenous people, people of color, immigrants, the LGBTQI+ community, the disabled community, and those living in poverty.
